The Queen and Prince Phillip

There has been a few times in the past when the Queen has visited the Peak District... Unfortunately, I have missed her every time!

Another group of unknown people! Can anyone tell us anything about this photo? Please get in touch if so. TIA

Group Unknown

Swimwear Beauties

Hope you have all had a wonderful Easter break. This week is about group shots and to start off here is a lovely bunch of ladies modelling some delightful swimwear and a rather dashing young man who looks rather pleased with himself... Anybody know these people?

Cromford Tors Road Widening

Although I was born and spent my very early years in Matlock and a brief few years in Lower Kilburn, I class myself as a Cromford girl. This is where I grew up and where I lived before I left to go travelling, it is also somewhere I always returned to until my mum moved to Wirksworth in 2014.

Single Portraits

Sorry for not posting yesterday, being a photographer I took myself off to The Photography Show to mix with some like minded people. But this week is about single portraits instead of groups. Does anybody recognaise this gentleman?

The Snow Of 1947

Happy first day of Spring folks... Today' historical share is another set of photos I remember from my childhood. I have never seen snow like this in my lifetime, but these photos (we assume) taken in 1947 were enough to set my imagination racing as a child.

This middle photo is actually a bus stuck in a snowdrift, and to think if we have 2" now England comes to a stand still.

Unknowns

Today's blast from the past! Anybody know who these lovely people are?

Knock Knock, Who IS in There???

What was this all about? Name that door? Name the people? Name the year?

Red Cross Nurses

We have quite a few group photos, here is one from the Red Cross. Anyone recognise the ladies in this photo? Mothers? Grans? Ideas on the year? TIA

The Lost villages of Derwent and Ashopton (Ladybower Dam)

I've decided to use Sunday to share the photos of general historical interest, and the first photo I have chosen is actually a set. One because I couldn't decide which to choose, but also because each one tells a story of it's own. I have actually taken most of these from a booklet Harry wrote called Lost Villages, about Derwent and Ashopton whose ruins now lie under the Ladybower Dam.

Pancake Day

So here's a happy bunch of, erm... Pancake throwers?!?! Wondering if it might be at Winster as they hold a mean pancake race there! Anyone know who they are?
